"I can't believe THAT," cried Anne bitterly. Then, seeing that Marilla looked shocked, she added passionately, "Why should she be born at all--why should any one be born at all--if she's better off dead? I DON'T believe it is better for a child to die at birth than to live its life out--and love and be loved--and enjoy and suffer--and do its work--and develop a character that would give it a personality in eternity. And how do you know it was God's will? Perhaps it was just a thwarting of His purpose by the Power of Evil. We can't be expected to be resigned to THAT."

Square Enix announced today that it has seen a 49 percent rise in profit in the year ending March 31st 2015 compared to the previous fiscal year.

The company noted that while it released fewer console titles in the past year it has seen stronger successes in smartphone games and MMOs.

Specifically, on the mobile game side, it picked out Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light, Schoolgirl Strikers, Final Fantasy Record Keeper, Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur as its strongest performers.

If you're curious, on the MMO side, it was Final Fantasy XIV and Dragon Quest X that were mentioned for "making favorable progress."

Also in its report, Square Enix said that "smart devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs are spreading rapidly, while the console game markets in North America and Europe are increasingly competitive and oligopolistic."

"In light of such environmental changes," the report continued, "the Group is focusing all efforts on a substantial earnings improvement through driving reforms of business structure in order to establish new revenue base."

What this means is that you can expect to see plenty more mobile games from Square Enix in the future.

Hopefully that means games such as Kingdom Hearts X[chi], which we found out is heading to iOS and Android in Japan, will make their way west too.

Telltale Games is shutting its doors, but they may try to see The Walking Dead to its finale. Episode 2 of The Walking Dead: The Final Season released this week, and there are still two more episodes left in limbo after the studio laid off the majority of its staff last week. The studio released a statement on Twitter expressing hopes that the project could be finished:

Hi everyone, we have a Walking Dead update for you. Multiple potential partners have stepped forward to express interest in helping to see The Final Season through to completion. While we can’t make any promises today, we are actively working towards a solution that will allow episodes 3 and 4 to be completed and released in some form. In the meantime, episode 2 will release tomorrow across all platforms as planned. We hope to have answers for your other questions soon.

It's worth noting the entire team working on The Walking Dead was laid off from Telltale Games without severance pay and no health insurance beyond the end of September. It’s hard to say who would be involved with the final two episodes and what shape they would be in if they are ever released.

Telltale Games laid off 250 of its staff last Friday, and will be closing down for good once the studio finishes its work on Minecraft: Story Mode. Apart from The Walking Dead, the company had also been planning a Stranger Things game with Netflix, and a second season of The Wolf Among Us.

Feral Interactive does just love causing a stir, and with sudden announcement of the code-named iOS game 'Lionheart' mobile gamers are certainly speculating this morning.

Yesterday Feral Interactive Tweeted out a nonchalant 'Ah just ignore it, it's probably broken' *wink-wink*-type message, and we know one thing from it: there's a new Feral game coming really soon.

What we can't get our heads around is what exactly is coming. In the comments of the post, gamers have been speculating everything from the slightly more ambitious Tomb Raider or Wolfenstein to ROME: Total War - Alexander or Medieval 2.

With a clue like 'Lionheart' it's also possible Feral could be playing off British history. As the books tell us, Richard I was king of England from 1189 and was revered as a great military hero/leader, therefore dubbed Richard the Lionheart. I'd wager that that's a pretty likely way for them to go.Well, unless the radar is broken we should find out about the game pretty darn soon. Until then, what do you guys think it'll be? Let us know in the comments below.
